I’m in the process of changing platforms from my old one designed by my brother to WordPress. This will allow me more flexibility and the ability to use more up to date features. The one my brother designed was great when the site started but the internet has advanced greatly in the last 5 or 6 years and It’s time to move on. Please be patient as I move all these files.

Thanks,

There are two irreconcilable statements that people hold to:

1. “You will live forever. The question is where[i]“.

2. “the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality[ii]“

Most Christians have been told that they have an immortal soul inside of them that must live on throughout eternity. It may live in Heaven or Hell but it will live. But what does the Bible say? Is God alone immortal or are we also immortal?

6/25/09

From the beginning of time people have needed to worship. Even before the first sin required confession God made provision for man to worship. Throughout history man has made temple after temple as a place to worship. Some were as simple as a shrine under a green tree with an Asherah pole. Others were magnificent marble buildings which took thousands of man-hours to complete. Yet war and wind have slowly destroyed most of these places of worship showing that man-made worship simply doesn’t last. But God has made a sort of temple that neither the fiercest tyrant nor the most severe of elements have been able to destroy. Those who have opposed it through the centuries are gone while God’s temple stands strong. I’m speaking of a temple made of time-the Sabbath.

The topic of the Second Coming of Jesus had become a point of much controversy. Many people have made millions of dollars off of speculating about it. Many have been brought to the foot of the cross because of this topic while others have been sadly lead astray. Today we will look at three camps of thought regarding Jesus’ Second Coming.

This is an important sermon on how we should prepare for the second coming.

“I am going out to see my Father’s world!” Maltbie Babcock announced to his church staff as he laced up his running shoes. The staff of the First Presbyterian Church in Lockport, NY, were used to their pastor making this statement as he went on his daily early-morning run. He would run two miles to the brow of a hill overlooking Lake Ontario, taking in all the beauty of God’s creation. He would then run two more miles to a beautiful, deep ravine, which was home to forty different species of birds. Maltbie found a closeness to his Heavenly Father as he spent time in His creation.

This insight into the personal life of Pastor Maltbie Davenport Babcock helps us understand the inspiration behind today’s hymn, “This Is My Father’s World”. (SDA Hymnal #92) Let’s take some time to explore our Father’s world in this fifth sermon in our series on Hymns for Him.
