It's easy to look down on many Biblical characters who just didn't seem to get it. I mean, why were the disciples so dashed when Jesus died on the cross when He had told them time and again that this would happen but that He would rise on the 3^rd day? But sometimes I wonder, if I was around in Jesus' day, would I get it? Do I really get it even today? Sometimes it's easier to apply the gospel with a broad brush—He died for the sins of the whole world—than to focus on the detail—He died for me specifically.
