Our cat, Cuddles, and I don't always understand each other. I'm a dog lover more than a cat lover. This causes misunderstandings between us. Sometimes Cuddles thinks I'm "out to get her" when I'm really trying to care for her needs and make her happy. I'm trying to gain a greater knowledge of cats so we can enjoy each other's company more. In a similar way we need to get to know God. We are different from Him and don't always understand His actions. We may get upset at God over something He did or didn't do. But when we gain a knowledge of God we find that He's trying to take care of us and make us happy and fulfilled.

This is the 10th in our series, "Steps to Christ: How to be ready for Jesus to come." Today we'll discuss two ways we gain a knowledge of God. Then, after the Christmas, when we finish up this series we'll discuss a third way--prayer.

Object Lessons
Action point: Let your life be a lesson book teaching you about God. Look for object lessons about God, faith, truth, perseverance, etc in everyday life.

The Bible Action Points: 1) Study a Bible passage till you see it's relation to Salvation. 2) "Keep your Bible with you. As you have opportunity, read it; fix the texts in your memory. Even while you are walking the streets you may read a passage and meditate upon it, thus fixing it in the mind."-Steps to Christ p. 62
