This is a first person sermon. We were visited by John the Baptist the forerunner of Jesus, the Messiah.
He shared his experience as the forerunner of Christ including his discouragement and how Jesus encouraged him to keep going.
He shared this with us because in a very real sense we are also forerunners of Christ like John the Baptist was. Because we are called to prepare the world for Jesus' second coming. We share some of the same discouragements that John had and can be encouraged by the same words of Christ that helped John.
