Steps to ChristI received a humorous email once that had a letter of recommendation from a Mr. X’s supervisor. The letter appeared to give a glowing recommendation until the postscript told how the letter was to be read. When read the “proper” way the meaning was totally opposite. You are a letter of recommendation to the world about Jesus. What is your letter saying about God? This is the 13th and final sermon in our series, “Steps To Christ: How to be ready for Jesus to Come.” Today we’ll look at “rejoicing in the Lord” and we’ll see that our joy benefits a sphere of influence far beyond ourselves.

This Sermon Series is based on the book Steps to Christ by Ellen White.

Thousands have become acquainted with Jesus through this little book. And it has helped many more, including those who have walked with Him for years, to know Him better.

There have been many printings of this book and that means that there are many page numberings. The page numbering for this series is from this edition – - > of the book.

“Many, especially those who are young in the Christian life, are at times troubled with the suggestions of skepticism. There are in the Bible many things which they cannot explain, or even understand, and Satan employs these to shake their faith in the Scriptures as a revelation from God.”-Steps To Christ p.74

We are rapidly coming to a close in this series, “Steps to Christ: How to be ready for Jesus to come” We have discussed God’s love for man, the sinner’s need of Christ, coming to Christ through repentance, confession, consecration, faith and acceptance. We’ve also looked at the test of discipleship, growing up into Christ, the work and life of a Christian, how to gain a knowledge of God, and the privilege of prayer (If you missed any of these you can click here),

Steps to ChristA mother overheard her little boy saying a bedtime prayer very loudly. “Dear Jesus, please bless mommy and daddy and grandma. And PLEASE SEND ME A NEW BICYCLE. Amen”

“Son” she admonished when he had finished, “you don’t need to yell, God isn’t deaf.”

“I know mommy, but Grandma’s in the next room and she is hard of hearing.”

What’s the point of your prayers? Is it to get closer to God or just to get? In our 11th in the series, “Steps to Christ: How to be ready for Jesus to come” we’ll look at “The Privilege of Prayer”.

This sermon identifies seven elements of prevailing prayer.

This Sermon Series is based on the book Steps to Christ by Ellen White.
