Steps to ChristNebraska is home to the second richest person in the world, Warren Buffett, who’s net worth is $42 Billion. With that kind of money you would think that he could buy anything. But there’s one thing that even Mr. Buffett cannot buy.

Misterpoll.com asked, “Which is the most intelligent people in the world?” The highest vote-getting people group was Indians of India (27%). Whether or not that’s true, there is also something that intellect cannot procure:

“Heaven’s forgiveness and peace and love in the soul. Money cannot buy it, intellect cannot procure it, wisdom cannot attain to it; you can never hope, by your own efforts, to secure it. But God offers it to you as a gift, ‘without money and without price.’ Isaiah 55:1. It is yours if you will but reach out your hand and grasp it…

“You have confessed your sins, and in heart put them away. You have resolved to give yourself to God. Now go to Him, and ask that He will wash away your sins and give you a new heart. Then believe that He does this because He has promised.”–Steps to Christ p. 32

In this, the sixth in our series, “Steps To Christ: How to be ready for Jesus to come” we’ll look at the topic, “Faith and Acceptance”.

This Sermon Series is based on the book Steps to Christ by Ellen White.

Thousands have become acquainted with Jesus through this little book. And it has helped many more, including those who have walked with Him for years, to know Him better.

There have been many printings of this book and that means that there are many page numberings. The page numbering for this series is from this edition – - > of the book.

Steps to ChristBeing a Christian is not a half hearted endeavor. It’s not something that you do once a week in church. It’s a day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, second by second choice to say “no” to our sinful nature which keeps trying to take over, and to surrender our will to Jesus. “God desires to heal us [Spiritually and physically], to set us free. But since this requires an entire transformation, a renewing of our whole nature, we must yield ourselves wholly to Him.” This is called consecration.–Steps to Christ p. 27

Today is our 5th in the series “Steps To Christ: How to be ready for Jesus to come.” Our topic is “Consecration”. Consecration is NOT gritting your teeth and doing “the right thing”. It means intentionally surrendering your will (your hopes, dreams and desires) to Jesus and choosing to let God work in your life every moment of every day.

This Sermon Series is based on the book Steps to Christ by Ellen White.

Steps to ChristThis is the fourth in our series “Steps To Christ: How to be ready for Jesus to come.” Last week we talked about the gift repentance this week we’ll look at a closely related topic, Confession. As Achan found out confession is more than just saying “sorry” what you get caught (Joshua 7:202125). So today we’ll notice some Bible truths about confession.

Steps to Christ: Repentance10/7/06

Steps to ChristLuke 18:10-14 tells about two men who went to the same place for the same purpose, but the result was dramatically different. The reason can be summed up in one word: repentance. Today we look at chapter 3 in our series on the book Steps to Christ. (There’s a lot in this chapter that we won’t have time to cover, so I strongly encourage you to pick up a copy of this book and read it.)
